Attention! Due to the size of the tires, Packages might be SEPARATED in the courier facility and not be DELIVERED on the SAME DAY, even though we do ship them together. Tracking information can be checked by logging on to the courier website with the master tracking number you will receive via email. For example, you can receive 3 tires in one day and the 4th one the next day or the day after, or one tire in one day and the second one day after. We understand that this is a big inconvenience for our buyers, however, this is ABSOLUTELY out of our control.
Features and Benefits:
The Pirelli Winter 240 Sottozero Serie II Run Flat is a performance, winter tire made for passenger vehicles and SUVs.
The tire increases the winter weather traction. The Temperature Dynamix Compound and the detailed tread design's high-density siping placement enhance the ice and snow, winter weather grip. The durable compound elements keep the rubber flexibility in versatile temperatures. The tread elements provide additional biting edges in order to grip the road ice- and snow-covered road surface conditions. The tread design's groove placement avoids hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the footprint. This enables the tire to safely perform in winter weather conditions.
This model is a run flat tire. Pirelli's run flat technology reinforces the tire's structural strength in order to withstand the weight of the vehicle and its passengers in case of air pressure loss. Once air pressure leaves the tire due to a puncture or other damage, the tire can be driven on for 50 miles up to the speed of 50 mph. As a result, the vehicle will not be stranded on the side of the road, instead it can safely arrive at a nearby location. Run flat tires are typically made for vehicles without space for a spare tire. These tires should not be mounted on the same vehicle with regular tires.
The tread design's high-density siping placement optimizes the road contact during the tire's performance. In this manner, the model enhances the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. In other words, the steering is quicker and more precise in its response to the driver's commands, while the structure is secured against the driving pressure. The Interactive Brickwork Siping design optimizes the braking ability. These elements generate friction between the tire and the road surface at the moment of braking, significantly shortening the braking distance. This combination ensures the driver's control over the vehicle even when performing on ice- and snow-covered surfaces.
The Pirelli Winter 240 Sottozero Serie II Run Flat features a reinforced internal structure which maintains the ideal tire shape under the load and driving pressure. As a result, the tire is able to closely follow the road surface while the tires are in motion. This allows the tire to absorb the hock of driving, minimizing the road vibrations felt in the vehicle's cabin. As road disturbances are not felt in the vehicle's cabin, the tire ensures an enjoyable and comfortable driving experience.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
