Hankook tires are made by a South Korean company that is usually ranked among the world’s 10 largest. It has been making tires since 1941 and supplies the original equipment and replacement markets. It has factories in its home country, China, Hungary, Indonesia and the U.S., in Clarksville, Tenn. Hankook also maintains a U.S. research and development center in Akron, Ohio. It remains active in motorsports. In the U.S. Hankook tires are sold new by major chain retailers, independent shops and e-tailers, so there are plenty on the used tire market. SUV and light truck lines include performance, all-terrain, mud/terrain and highway/terrain tires in variations of the Ventus and Dynapro lines.
