Attention! Due to the size of the tires, Packages might be SEPARATED in the courier facility and not be DELIVERED on the SAME DAY, even though we do ship them together. Tracking information can be checked by logging on to the courier website with the master tracking number you will receive via email. For example, you can receive 3 tires in one day and the 4th one the next day or the day after, or one tire in one day and the second one day after. We understand that this is a big inconvenience for our buyers, however, this is ABSOLUTELY out of our control.

Kumho Spare T131 Tires

The Kumho Spare T131 is a touring, all season tire made for passenger vehicles.

This Kumho model is a compact spare tire. It is manufactured with smaller physical sizes compared to regular tires, which minimizes the trunk space it takes up. Additionally, it also features a lightweight construction to reduce its weight. However, this sacrifices its performance. The tire must be inflated at 60 psi at all times, and it cannot be driven above 50 mph. This is strictly a temporary tire that can be used when one of the tires mounted on the vehicle goes flat. Compact spare tires only offer limited performance.

The tire features a symmetric ribbed tread design, which maintains surface contact at all times. As a result, the tire increases steering responsiveness and driving stability. Quick and precise steering is guaranteed, while the structure is secured against the driving pressure. Yet, due to the lightweight structure and smaller size, the tire will not offer the same levels of performance as regular tires can. Therefore, careful driving is recommended.

The Kumho Spare T131 provides the necessary traction to safely perform. An all season compound was molded into an asymmetric tread design to increase dry, wet, and light winter traction. As a result, the tire is able to safely perform, as it provides adequate traction. However, it should not be used in harsh winter conditions, as it will not be able to generate the needed traction. The groove placement limits the possibility of hydroplaning, but slower driving in wet conditions is suggested.

This tire model was manufactured as the original equipment tire of select vehicles.

This is a bias ply or diagonal tire. Due to the tire's internal construction and size, it is possible that the tire will look deformed. Smaller diagonal tires do not have reinforced constructions that can keep the tire from deforming. The bias construction and the small tire's non-reinforced internal structure allow the tire to fold in when it is deflated or not properly inflated. This is not constructional damage or an issue; it is a normal occurrence with such tires. In such cases, the tire needs to be mounted and inflated to the proper PSI or, in some instances, an inner tube needs to be added. The proper PSI and the inner tube are able to maintain the tire's ideal shape, preventing the bias plies from looking deformed. This ensures their performing safety and durability.

The photo is a representation of the tire's possible deformation, it does not represent the specific tire model, size, tread pattern and application.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Please note this is Original Equipment (O.E.) tire size only. The O.E. size is determined by the year, make, model and options of the vehicle. Original Equipment size data is the best information we currently have available to us. TireMart.com is not responsible for fitment errors. The most important aspect of purchasing a tire is its size, which cannot vary. It is buyer's responsibility to verify the tire size information. It is buyer's responsibility to verify whether a specific tire is suitable for a specific vehicle. However, this tire size may be fitted on other vehicles as well. To ensure that you are purchasing the correct tire size for your vehicle, please check the size of your currently mounted tires (locate on the tire's sidewall). The tire's sidewall also features the speed and load rating, indicating the speed and load capacity of the specific tire. The speed and load index can differ from the tires you currently have mounted on your vehicle up to a degree. Please check your vehicle's Owner's Manual or consult with your mechanic regarding the changes of your tire's speed rating and load index. If you have any questions regarding your tire size , speed rating and load index please contact us prior to purchasing and confirm with certified auto technician of any variance in speed and load index and sizes.
