Attention! Due to the size of the tires, Packages might be SEPARATED in the courier facility and not be DELIVERED on the SAME DAY, even though we do ship them together. Tracking information can be checked by logging on to the courier website with the master tracking number you will receive via email. For example, you can receive 3 tires in one day and the 4th one the next day or the day after, or one tire in one day and the second one day after. We understand that this is a big inconvenience for our buyers, however, this is ABSOLUTELY out of our control.
Features and Benefits:
The Continental ProContact TX SSR is a touring, all season tire made for passenger vehicles. It has some high performance sizes as well.
This model offers excellent all weather traction and it will grip the road well, even in winter weather. The tire not only grips the road well in all weather conditions, but it M+S rated for its superb performance in both mud and snow. The circumferential grooves in the tread pattern help avoid dangerous hydroplaning situations by channeling water from beneath the tire's footprint. The remarkable all season traction and the resistance to hydroplaning make this model perform safely all year-round.
The tire was manufactured with a compound that lowers its overall weight. The lower weight of the tire reduces the rolling resistance, which in turn decreases the vehicle's fuel consumption and CO2 emissions and slows down the wear rate of the tread, as the driving force is equally distributed along the tread surface. A longer tread life is also provided by the tire's maximized road contact area, which prevents irregular wear. The longer lasting, even wear increases the tire's mileage. Thanks to these two factors, the tire becomes environmentally friendly and cost-efficient.
The Self-Supporting Run Flat technology enables the tire's limited, temporary performance when air pressure leaves the tire. In such instances, the tire can be driven on for 50 miles up to 50 mph. This prevents the vehicle from being stranded on the side of the road. Instead, it can be driven to a nearby location, where the damaged tire can be fixed or changed. Run flat tires should not be mounted on the same vehicle with regular tires, due to the difference in their overall weight.
The specially designed tread pattern on the tire enhances its steering responsiveness and its high speed stability. The steering is more accurate and responsive thanks to the tread pattern, which enables the driver to respond to the changing road conditions on time. The tread pattern's interlocking sipes offer extra driving stability at high speeds by continually maintaining constant road contact and enhanced road grip.
The Continental ProContact TX SSR offers a quiet and comfortable drive. Some of its sizes were manufactured with Continental's ContiSilent technology, which reduces the road noise with a special foam on the inside of the tread that absorbs all the noise created by the tires. Those sizes that do not have the ContiSilent foam lessen the road noise with the tread pattern's center rib, which channels the soundwaves through the footprint.
This tire model was manufactured as the original equipment tire of select vehicles.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.

To ensure that you are purchasing the correct tire size for your vehicle, please check the size of your currently mounted tires (locate on the tire's sidewall). The tire's sidewall also features the speed and load rating, indicating the speed and load capacity of the specific tire. The speed and load index can differ from the tires you currently have mounted on your vehicle up to a degree. Please check your vehicle's Owner's Manual or consult with your mechanic regarding the changes of your tire's speed rating and load index. If you have any questions regarding your tire size , speed rating and load index please contact us prior to purchasing and confirm with certified auto technician of any variance in speed and load index and sizes.
